Thank you to everyone that came & joined us for Title I Turkey Bingo. We had an amazing turnout. Congratulations to all of our winners. Friday November 10th Regular School Day All Grades

Looking for 3rd through 6th graders at Minatare Elementary, boys and girls, to participate in open gym/basketball activities. Students will have weekly practices and be a part of : Help students become familiar with basketball concepts Develop a team mentality Become familiar with competition Develop a culture of success at a younger age

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, when the clock will “fall back” one hour and in theory we get one extra hour of sleep.

Today Mrs. Grote's first graders read Pumpkin Jack. We started our own Pumpkin Jack experiment to watch the life cycle of a pumpkin. We will keep an eye on this little pumkin for the rest of the school year!

We love to have Nurse Jamie come to first grade. This time we learned how food travels through the human digestive system. Digestion is interesting, but it isn't pretty!

If your child was invited to after school tutoring at the elementary, the Fall session begins Monday, October 16, from 3:35 to 4:20 pm! Sessions will be after school every Monday and Wednesday through November 15!

FEMA and FCC Plan Nationwide Emergency Alert Test for Oct. 4; Test Messages Will be Sent to All TVs, Radios and Cell Phones

After reading the fable "Medio Pollito," Mrs. Grote's first graders made weather vanes.

Ms. S's first graders performed a play about a fable they read in class called The Crowded, Noisy House. The moral of the story is, no matter how bad you think you have it, things could always be worse.

Don't forget Parent/Teacher Conferences will run tomorrow, Thursday September 28th from 4:30-7:30PM at Minatare Elementary School (805 7th Street). High school staff will be located in the gym (please remember to sign in). Elementary staff will be located in their designated classrooms. Conferences will continue on Friday September 29th from 8:00AM to 12:00PM. Please plan to attend, visit with our staff, and see all of the great things happening at Minatare Public Schools.

Reminder that this week is Parent/Teacher Conferences. They will be held at the Elementary school located at 807 7th Street. Dates are Thursday September 28th from 4:30-7:30pm and Friday September 29th from 8:00am to 12:00pm. High School Staff will be set up in the Elementary Gym and Elementary Staff will be located in their designated classrooms. Please plan to attend so that we can share all of the wonderful things your students have been doing.

Minatare Elementary's 3rd & 4th graders had the honor of Nebraska's First Lady Suzanne Pillen visit their classroom today! She came and read the book "Right this very minute" a table to farm book. She also talked about agriculture in Nebraska. It was a wonderful experience and honor to have her visit our little school. Thank you so much for the time you spent with us today Suzanne Pillen!!

Monthly Lifespan Respite Update Since July 1, we have assisted 100 individuals with respite funding (97 Children, 7 Adults, 6 Elderly) and they have already used $16,408 in respite funding. Scotts Bluff County – 45 Dawes County – 40 Box Butte County – 12 Sheridan County – 7 Morrill County – 2 Cheyenne County – 2 Kimball County – 2 We had a successful Respite Fun Day at the Chadron Aquatic Center with 22 individuals attending. Comments from the families included: We enjoyed the event and had fun swimming. It was great to get out of the house and have a good day! Thank you for hosting!!! The swimming was a very nice activity well enjoyed by kids and adults. Thank you. Absolutely loved respite fun day! It was a great experience! The kiddos got to meet other kids while doing so. Our next event is December 2 in Scottsbluff. The flyer and registration form are attached. We are excited at the continued increase in respite usage and hope you will continue to refer families who have a child on an IEP or IFSP or even a 504 Plan. I attached our most recent Provider list. We are still looking for providers, especially in Box Butte, Sheridan, Morrill, Cheyenne and Kimball Counties. Many families really enjoy that the kids can participate in activities such as dance, gymnastics and swimming. Please contact Ms. Tyree-Bowers or Ms. Alvord for more information. **Reminder** Tomorrow September 19th is picture day for Pre-K- 5th grade. Come dressed in your best with a big smile and bring your picture packet!!

Mrs. Grote's first graders are learning about light. We had fun experimenting to find objects within the classroom that are transparent, translucent and opaque.
