With good behavior and hard work, Mrs. Grote's class has earned another fun reward. Today we experimented and learned how to make raisins dance.

Good afternoon, We don't have a bunch of wiggle room in the calendar for snow days, early outs, or late starts, which is why we utilize a remote day option on typical snow days. In calculating the hours for the school year, yesterday's late start has slightly dropped us below the required 1080 hours. To pick up some time, we will make Thursday, February 16th a regular, full day of school prior to parent-teacher conferences instead of a 1:30 pm dismissal. Parent-teacher conferences will remain the same (4:30 pm - 7:30 pm). Thank you.

The students in Mrs. Grote's class have worked hard to earn a mystery reward. Excellent behavior and quality work are rewarded with a puzzle piece. When the puzzle is finished, the class gets that reward. Our first puzzle was a hot chocolate party!

The sixth graders are back at it creating their ideal utopian city to go with their new novel! The students use their rubrics as guidance to design. They had to come up with jobs, laws, a flag, and a city map layout.

Minatare 5th and 6th grade band members have been sharing their musical talents with the whole elementary during morning meeting this week and last. They will continue playing Christmas songs for us all until break. It’s been fun hearing for all. Thank you Mrs Sailors for everything you do to help our whole school with music and band.

The sixth graders had a special guest today, Army Veteran Tim Lacy came and spoke about his time in the military, why he joined, and more. The students loved hearing stories and trying on the gear he brought along. Thank you for your service Tim. Thank you to all the veterans out there for your service and sacrifice.
